HTC recently released its latest flagship device, called HTC One, loaded with brilliant features, elegant design and more you know better, as you now owned it and finding how to Unlock the HTC One Bootloader? Unlocking the bootloader opens the ways to customize your device, like Rooting, Installing Customs ROM, ClockworkMod Recovery and so on.

Before we move on to unlock bootloader for your device, it is recommended that you know some of the basic things:

Things you need to know before unlocking Bootloader

  1. First of all, it will void your warranty.
  2. Unlocking the Bootloader will cause to erase all data from your device, therefore it is necessary to backup the important data on your HTC One.

You are also advise to take the following essential steps:

  • Backup your data
  • Enable USB Debugging from Settings->Developers Options
  • You must have enough charge on your device, at least 60%.
  • Disable Anti-Virus Program, if you do have installed on your PC.

Now once you understood the precautions and requirements to unlock bootlaoder, now download the following files.

  • Download HTC Sync Manager and install it on your PC. [Download Link]
  • Download Fastboot, depending on your platform, Windows or Mac [Download Link]

When you have fulfilled the requirements and downloaded the necessary files, now you are ready to proceed and unlock the bootloader.

Instructions to Unlock Bootloader on HTC One

Step 1. You need to signup for free account. [Click Hereand confirm it.

Step 2. Now On HTCdev, head over to Bootloader page. [Click Here]

Step 3. Now you need to select your device, you need to  select “All other supported models“, as HTC One is not listed. Now click on the below button ‘Begin Unlock Bootloader’ and accept all the terms and conditions.

Step 4. Now Turn-Off your device and Boot it into Bootloader mode by holding the Volume Down+Power Button, simultaneously. Now use your Volume Up/Down Buttons to navigate through options and Use your power button to select options.

Step 5. Now navigate to  Fastboot Option from Bootloader menu and select it. You are now required to Connect your device to PC.

Step 6. Now on your desktop, create a new folder and rename it Android and paste the files you have extracted from Fastboot folder.

Step 7. Now go to Start Menu and click on run and type “cmd” as shown in the image below:

Step 8. Now a bit tricky here, click on the Android folder you have created, and copy the folder location from there, as i have done in the image below:

Step 9. Now in the command prompt type “cd “paste the location you have just copied”. then press Enter.

Step 10. [alert style=”white”] Now type “fastboot oem get_identifier_token” and Enter [/alert]

Step 11. Now right click, Select Mark, and copy the Identifier Token as shown in the following image, and paste it in the section ‘my device identifier token‘ section on 3rd page of HTCdev, if don’t know [Click Here] and hit the Submit button at the bottom.

Step 12. Now after clicking the submitting button, it will show the success message and the unlocking info file will be send to your email address. Now go to your email inbox and download the file.

Step 13. Now copy the downloaded file, which will something like this ‘Unlock_code.bin‘ and paste to the folder Android.

Step 14. [alert style=”white”] Now in the command window type this, “fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin” and hit Enter. [/alert]

Step 15. HTC One, will give you a message as shown in the image below:

Do you want to Unlock Bootloader on HTC One?Step 16: Now after selecting the Yes! Your device will then Reboot. Now wait for the device to Boot normally.
