How to Root Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9500

This is the step-by-step rooting guide for the international variant of Samsung Galaxy S4 with model number GT-I9500, so if you do have any other model, then you are on wrong place, kindly search for your model in our blog. Before you proceed, i would recommend you to double check it before you further proceed. To find your device model no. Go to settings app, then head over to “About Device”, here you can find your device model. If you have Galaxy S4 GT-I9500, then you are on the right place, to Root your device.

Guidelines and Requirements:

1. To get root access to  on your Galaxy S4, First you need to Download Odin3 V3.07.

2. Now download CF Auto Root for your Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 [Direct Link].

3. Once you download the necessary files, Keep them on Desktop and create a new  folder.

4. Disable any other programs running on your PC, Like Anti-Virus , Samsung Skies etc.

5. Before you further proceed, it is recommended that Backup your data.

6. This one is important, Enable USB Debugging from Developer Options.

7. You are doing it, at your own risk.

Root Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 Running Android 4.4.2 KitKat

STEP 1. Now Extract/Unzip the downloaded files on your desktop.

STEP 2. Make sure, Your device is not connect to PC, if it is, then disconnect it. Now Click on Odin3.exe to run the application. It will give a screen like the one below:

STEP 3. Now switch off your device, And put it into Download Mode by holding the Volume down+Home+Power Button, it may ask you again to press any key to confirm download mode, just hit the Volume+ button.

STEP 4. Now connect your device to PC and wait for the Odin, to recognize your device.

STEP 5. Now you are ready to hit the “PDA” Button from Odin3 and select the file you have extracted from CF Auto Root folder. And then click on the “START” button to start Rooting your Galaxy S4.

STEP 6. It usually takes from 30 to 50 seconds to done all the Rooting process for your device. Once it is done, Odin will show a green box saying, “PASS“. During this process your device will Reboot normally.

STEP 7. Once you see, the Pass message, then you can disconnect your Device.

STEP 8. Now to make sure you have successfully rooted Galaxy S4 running the Android 4.4.2 KitKat, now go to applications section and find the SuperSU App, which verifies and confirms that you’ve successfully gained root access.
