FaceTime Not Working: Here is how to fix

As you know FaceTime is a 2-way service, so some of the fixes suggested below should be performed at both ends.

Update to latest version:

Depending on your device, either iPhone or iPad you need to install the latest iOS version. So go ahead and check if you’ve installed the latest version on your device.

  • Go to Settings > General > Software update.

If there is any update available for your device, I would recommend you to update to the latest version and this alone will fix any issues with FaceTime. You can also try the alternative fixes given below.

Reactivating may also fix FaceTime

Follow these steps to reactivate FaceTime on iPhone or iPad:

  • Go to Settings > FaceTime
  • Now flip the switch to deactivate it as shown in the picture below:

  • Reactivate it again.

Reset Network Settings

Now if updating your iPhone or reactivating FaceTime does not fix FaceTime connection error then resetting the network settings may fix the issue. Here is how to reset network settings:

  • Go to Settings.
  • General > Reset
  • And choose the “Reset Network Settings“.
  • Your iPhone or iPad will now reboots.
