Ok I got to try this. I hope it works with my normal i337 gs4

I also have the Galaxy S4 from AT&T [SGH-I337] and when I downloaded the Geohot AR (installed it’s name is activeroot) I never received a msg saying I have root. Also after I launched the AR App it said that currently only the Galaxy S4 Active is supported, so it’s a failed attempt on my attempt.

      • Milton Medina

I got the same. WTF! I did it step by step.

@disqus_VIwCRYefUx:disqus did it work? wee need more feedback in order to trust it or not brother!:)

    I can’t believe you’re a website. There’s this thing called hyperlinking.

      “I can’t believe you’re a website. There’s this thing called hyperlinking.”

LoL! I wasn’t sure what this comment meant when I was going over this, but when I was trying to follow the instructions and realized they lacked a big part (being the actual link or address the referenced page) and the comment instantly made sense – and I agree.. kind of a big slip actually – annoyed me for about 3minutes until I just looked it up myself.

Ok so yeah this only works with the active so maybe a few edits should be made so no one gets upset 😉

    1. What does “click on the Lambda sign” mean?
    2. Assuming it means to click on the only link on the page…
    a. I right clicked, and “Save Page As”d.
    b. I examined that page in NotePad, and didn’t find anything useful?
    3. Can I have another clue?

  • Found it:
However, that is only for the ~active~ model, which is the Everything-Proof-Resitant whatever version.
So now we’re stuck here without any way to root the S4, STILL.

    • samuelsmichael

Is the “active” model the i337?

  • Gordon Miller

This really P”s me off. I’ve spent a week trying to root my S4 only to find some sort of a stupid gag joke

  • William Scott Gouge

The Active is 1537, not 1337. This worked on mine.

    • Yeah exactly, Active Version is SGH-1537, I have already stated in my comment, you can check it out.

  • Randy van Vliet

This does not work for an AT&T SGH-i337 Galaxy S4. The Galaxy Active is an SGH-i537 from AT&T.

    • Vliet read my latest comment, and the guide is updated 🙂

  • First of all, the Guide is updated, and it is for Galaxy S4 Active SGH-I537, I apologize for writing incorrect Model No, of AT&T Active Version, but it has now been updated, Its perfectly working but this method won’t work on any other variant of GS4.
