I followed the instructions, but I am not able to get into the recovery mode. If I press the power button with volume down button I get the download mode again. I am using the GT-N8013. I downloaded the correct files: N8000-CWM-Touch- and CF-Auto-Root-p4notewifi-p4notewifiue-gtn8013.tar.md5. Could you please help me out?

    • Hey Sudarshan, Sorry you need to hold the Volume Up+Power Button to enter recovery mode. Volume Down+Power buttons are used to enter download mode!!

When I first wrote that message, I hadn’t seen the PASS! on Odin, just RESET after the process completed. So I did the whole process again and waited for the tablet to reboot and rebooted it again (as per instructions on an android forum) and finally was able to see the PASS! on Odin. However, pressing VolumeDown+Power still took me into download mode. I even tried VolumeUp+Power to avail.

From that link I installed ROM manager, and as soon as I launched it, it had a dialouge window telling me that I need to set up a recovery (which is confusing since I thought thats what I just did with Odin). Anyway I followed the instructions it provided but my device was not in the list of recommended devices. So it asked whether I installed CWM manually and I said I did, then it asked me for the version with the choices ClockworkMod 2.x and ClockworkMod 3.x+. I didn’t which I had installed but took a risk and went with ClockworkMod 2.x.

Here is the interesting part: I need to press VolumeUp + Power to get it into recovery mode to get the same screen as in screenshot you posted. For me the version says and your screenshot version is which is OK I’m guessing, I just happen to have the latest version.

        1) When I am in recovery mode, and I press reboot system now, I get “ROM may flash stock recovery on boot. Fix?” and Yes and No as choices. Given that I am planning on installing a custom ROM what should I select?

        2) Given the information that I provided could you let me if I am on the right track on installing and enjoying the wonders of a custom ROM and not on my way to bricking my device?
